A short two-day weekend Israel trip All my preparations for it were left until the last evening. As always, I first laid out everything that would fit in my backpack, then packed it up and stuffed it into Abbas. When the trip is short, there is little to take with me 🙂 Shall we take a look at what's in my backpack?

What's in My Backpack for a Trip to Israel?

In the following order, what I have in my backpack for my trip to Israel;

  • A crossbody bag (the red one) for carrying important things like my wallet, passport right at hand
  • My backpack, which is mini mini when folded so that I can carry things like water and fruit with me while wandering around the city (below the red bag)
  • My little notebook to take my notes
  • My visa paper with Israel visa printed
  • my passport
  • Normally, I never take it with me, but this time it is my identity card that will come in handy when entering Masjid al-Aqsa. It is said that they check the religion section of the ID card at the entrance to prove that you are a Muslim, and they also want the surah to be recited. We'll see when I go.
  • Small padlocks on the lockers for staying in hostels.
  • Head lamp, you never know when you will need it 🙂
  • my bin. Maybe we'll have time to swim in the Dead Sea or Tel Aviv 🙂
  • Of course my sandals.
  • My socks and underwear.
  • My personal care needs such as shampoo, cream, and cologne wipes. Refreshing wipes always save lives on your trips abroad, remember that the bidet is only for us!
  • My buffs.
  • My fiber towel, I normally buy two but I couldn't find the other one 🙂
  • My camera is Cingöz of course 🙂
  • My outfits consist of 2 pants, 2 long sleeved t-shirts, 2 short sleeved t-shirts, 1 fleece, 1 raincoat and 1 windbreaker. Usually it looks rainy 🙁
  • A large shawl to use when entering places of worship.
  • My iPad.
  • My half ticket walking shoes that are not in the photo.
  • And of course my backpack Abbas.

  1. It would have been better if you had written Palestine instead of Israel. By the way, my mother is from Rize and my father is from Trabzon. I enjoyed reading your article about Trabzon. I recommend you to go to Rize Ardeşen. 🙂

  2. Hello, did they check your ID when entering Al-Masjid al-Aqsa or any questions? I was wondering actually.

    • Hello Zia,

When we say we are Turkish at the entrance, they ask for an ID and check if it says "Islam". According to what I read on the blogs, there are also times that they want different surahs to be read.

  3. Israel is a route that I can recommend to anyone who loves to travel. But I am not sure if the period is appropriate? You won't have any problems in Tel Aviv, but I would say be careful in Jerusalem and especially in East Jerusalem if you go. Jerusalem; It is one of the places that has influenced me the most spiritually among the places I have visited. The "Rock" inside the Dome of the Rock and the Dome of the Rock is of great value to me, rather than the Masjid.

    Have fun
