Azerbaijan Airlines Azal fly with The answer to the question is yes you can fly, but by paying South America money for the Baku ticket!

As a frequent flyer, I rarely have problems with airlines. In my last trip to Baku Azal Airlines I had a problem with which I had no solution.

Can Azerbaijan Airlines fly with Azal?

On 28.01.2014 Azal (Azerbaijan Airlines) from Istanbul-Baku round-trip flight ticket dated 19.05.2014, by paying 798 TL, from internet sites.

Due to my busy schedule, I had to postpone my flight date, and I had my ticket canceled by calling 0 212 296 35 30, which is the contact phone number in Istanbul. They informed me that I can use my canceled ticket within 1 year by paying the fine until 19.05.2015.

Before my one year expired, I called in April 2015 from the same phone number and informed them of my new date for my ticket. 23.04.2015 departure-27.04.2015 return. From the call center, I received the information that I could fly my ticket number from the ticket sales office at the airport by paying a fine of 103 euros. For my flight, which was at 09:45 in the morning, I had to complete the ticketing process until 08:30.

I went to Azal office at Sabiha Gökçen airport at 23.04.2015:07 on 45. I extended my ticket number. As "Sevil Mert", the staff there confirmed my name and made the ticketing process. The problem started here, it was a new ticket that was issued and I was being asked to pay 798TL for the ticket. I said I have my ticket number and I will only pay the difference. The staff said that they did not see such a transaction on their screen and that although they canceled the ticket they cut, they did not see a ticket with penalty payment in the system. But I talked to the call center many times and confirmed the transaction. The staff said either I had to fly with the ticket or if he canceled the ticket I wouldn't be able to fly he didn't see any other ticket. There I would either cancel all my travel plans or pay and fly. I wanted to call the call center but there was no one to answer the phone at that hour.

After long discussions, Azal Personnel informed me that when I reached the call center by phone, I could easily make my transaction and that they could refund the amount over the penalty to my credit card. When I said give it to me in writing, he said he did not have such authority. I had only 1 hour left on the plane and I chose to fly. I wanted to think that when I returned, they would somehow refund the money I paid extra.

When I came back and called the same phone again, they said that they only sell Azal tickets, and that I had to fill out the contact form on the azal.az website to talk to Azal.

I filled it.

Response from Azal: They informed me that the 1-year period starts on the ticket date, not the ticket date, and therefore I cannot use the suspended ticket and I do not have the right to any refund.

In this ticket, in the description information books, in the shipping conditions or in the absence of other conditions, the duration of the ticket is considered as a year from the date of issuance. With this contract, it can be qədər dəyişdirilə until the distribution is started. The prescribed recipe is paid, the distributor can avoid spilling.

When I called the call center number, it was stated that there would be no problem if the transaction was made with the correct ticket number at the airport, but they could not do anything right now, but they could provide a discount of 230 TL for my next ticket purchase. They say that my unused ticket is still valid, unlike Azal… Of course, would I want to go to Baku again? Why would I want to…Do I want to fly with Azal again?

After about 500TL of damage, a lot of phone calls and e-mails, my only option was to submit my complaints on social media. If I had known I had time until January 28, I would have planned my schedule accordingly, but it is too late to discuss this now.

My request is that the ticket I bought unnecessarily due to the misdirection made to me is returned to me by deducting my fine from the price.

I think the answer from Azal.az site is pretty clear in this case. …the duration of the ticket is valid for one year from the date of its issuance… I understood why you were a victim as follows: There was a deficiency in the information given to you from the Istanbul representative of Azal. If they had warned you when the aforementioned year started, you could have acted accordingly, but they promised you a discount of 1 TL in return for their understanding of your grievance. I am an Azerbaijani citizen and I am working in a position where I can apply to Azala, but the company is right in this regard. If there is a nuance that you think is right, it is best to initiate legal proceedings.

  3. The worst airline I've ever seen in my life was delayed for 5 hours. Today, ht has no respect for people, as if you're not a passenger, you're a worker, don't cancel your ticket on the plane anyway, you regret it anyway. I don't recommend traveling by air to Azerbaijan again and I don't recommend it.

  5. Azerbaijan is already one of the countries that are rarely visited for touristic purposes. While they are promoting the country thanks to traveler people like you, they also curse them, I'm surprised. Airline companies in the globalizing world; I hope they realize that it is their responsibility to make travel cheaper and easier.

  6. I landed on your page by accident. When I saw this article, I was upset. I had a very similar problem to yours. If they are not a huge airline company, I will say that they are doing it on purpose.
