Train Alternatives in Italy

You have alternatives to watch the surroundings from the train in Italy. Local trains are slower, like our old commuter trains. Express trains are high speed trains.

Local Trains in Italy

in Italy local trains: Locale or Regional it says. Slow trains that stop at every station. I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry. The jingle can be an option for those who love to travel. Of course, these are much more economical options compared to other trains.

Express Trains in Italy

Another option for traveling by train in Italy is connecting major cities. express trains: Intercity ve Eurostar are faster trains that serve mainly within the country. Especially in Eurostar, 1st class travel will provide a luxury trip. Although these trains are very fast, they are quite expensive trains. You can go to your destination for 10 euros by local trains and 60 euros by express trains. While local trains travel the same distance in 6 hours, express trains can go in 1-2 hours.

International Trains in Italy

in Italy international trains: Trains to neighboring countries such as Switzerland, France, Austria, Germany. Euroctiy or EuroNight examples. For detailed information about train tickets, routes and schedules, I recommend you to review the Trenitalia website.

Your other options for intercity transportation in Italy are bus or car rental.

You can find very affordable car rental options in Europe. Gasoline prices and highway tolls are factors that increase costs. If you are traveling with 3-4 people, renting a car will be a good alternative. However, it can be expensive if you are alone.

Visit Rentalcars.com for car rental options in Italyn.

  1. Train companies in Italy have discounted and limited use of two months, but this opportunity is not available to Turkish tourists.
Do you know about this subject?

  2. First of all, I would like to congratulate the 1st year of your site. It is a very nice site that answers all questions, is full of information and appeals to the eye. I am a rome lover like you and I want to start my first trip abroad from Rome. However, since this will be my first trip abroad and my destination is Rome, I'm thinking of going with a tour with a guide service. But the complaints I read about tour companies made me think a lot. I would be very grateful if you could give me your opinion on this matter. It's my first trip and I don't want my trip to Rome to be poison.

    Thanks in advance,

    • Hello, thank you very much for your nice comments 🙂
I also made my first trip abroad to Italy with a tour company. It can be useful for the debut. Ready plane, hotel, etc. Things are organized for you. My advice to you is to do a detailed research before you go and not be dependent on the tour. Because walking around with the guide causes you to deal with issues such as not losing the tour, keeping up with the speed of the guide, rather than visiting and seeing. And believe me, your own research will give you much more pleasure than the guide will tell you. As a reminder, make sure that the hotel you will stay in is in the city center. Or at least because it's close to public transport. If you can find out, I would say try to find out which hotel it is without paying the money.

Finally, how the trip will go is entirely up to you, neither the guide nor the companion can prevent you if you have set your mind to enjoy this job.

      Hope you enjoy Rome,
      Email 🙂
