The most important stop of my trip to Italy is Rome, the second day travel notes continue in this article.

7 days Italy, Day 6: Rome II

RomaA new day in . There is the smell of rain in the air.

Running in the morning to be able to see before the rain starts and to take better pictures ColosseumWe're going to Since we went early, we were inside without waiting in line. Once inside, we understand why the Romans were so far ahead in architecture. Considering the conditions and technology of the period when the Colosseum was built, the resulting structure is a masterpiece. Famous right before our eyes Gladyatör images from the movie are coming.

It can be walked around on two floors, that's all for the part open to tourists. It's really crowded, but you can't help thinking about how crowded it can be during those gladiator festivities. 50.000 people were watching those shows here back then. Now we can only wander around and dream. We wonder what it looked like in its real state, how it was damaged so much, why it is not restored.

Our next stop Compo dei Fiori Square. We go to the square by subway, but we go through the wrong door of the subway and wander around a bit. It was like we came out from behind the Gezi Park instead of Taksim Square from the metro in Istanbul 🙂 Our destination is behind us, we are looking in an unrelated direction. Fortunately, it didn't take long for us to notice.

The square is the most empty square we have seen in Rome. It stuck in my mind as it wasn't like this when I came before. The weather is pretty cold, its effect I guess. We take a few pictures in the square. This square is also symmetrical and I really like symmetry.

We continue from here and proceed on the street where the most luxurious shops of Rome are located. We're going to turn right and reach the Spanish Steps. Unlike many European cities, Rome is bumpy, flat hilly. It is these hills that also ensure that there are "magnificent" stairs in the city.

Spanish stairs and Compo dei Fiori Square are connected from the back by a huge garden on this hill. But the weather is cold and the wind increases as you go up, so we prefer not to visit these gardens.

The stairs got their name because the Spanish Consul lived in the building at the top of the stairs. The square and the stairs are also crowded, but when I came before, there was no place to take a step.

Our list of places to see in Rome is over, after that, enjoy the places we love more, see the streets we have not seen. There are also places we want to take pictures at night.

Unfortunately, photographs are insufficient to reflect the beauty you see with your eyes.

The Colosseum must be seen at night. There are especially slanted-eyed tourists like us who come to take pictures at night.

Emmanuel's wedding cake looks even more impressive at night. Finally we go to Republic Square and finish Rome 🙁

Our last day will be spent on the road. But we have in mind the beautiful squares, beautiful streets of Rome…
