Lisinia Doğa is a project that has declared war on cancer with its 9 different projects and numerous sub-projects. Established on a large land near the Karakent Village on the shores of Burdur Lake, Lisinia Doga's doors are open to anyone who wants to work, both as visitors and volunteers.
What Does Lisinia Mean?
The region in which Burdur is located was Pisidia in ancient times, the most known cities of Pisidia, surrounded by Caria, Lycia, Pamphylia and Phrygia, are the Ancient City of Termessos in Antalya and the Ancient City of Sagalassos in Burdur. Lisinia was one of the Pisidian cities established on the shores of Burdur Lake. B.C. Unfortunately, nothing has survived from ancient Lisinia, which lived in this region for around 300 years, we only know its name. Lisinia Nature takes its name from this ancient city, which is close to the region where it was founded. The project area is known as lower Lisinia. The word meaning of Lisinia is; It means “the glimmer and reflection of the rising and setting sun and moonlight on the water”. Isn't it a beautiful meaning? Lisinia is located on the Lavanta Road on the shores of Burdur Lake, between Kuyucak and Salda Lake. The easiest way to go to Lisinia is by private car, you can reach it by your own vehicle or by renting a vehicle.
- Lisinia is 35 kilometers from the center of Burdur, after Karakent, the road is quite narrow and broken in places.
- Lisinia is located 31 kilometers from Kuyucak Village, which is famous for its lavender fields.
- Lisinia is approximately 60 kilometers from Salda Lake. On the way from Lisina to Salda; If it is lavender time, that is, the end of June and the beginning of July, you can go by Akçaköy Lavanta Stream, and when flamingos come, you can go by Yarislı Lake. Both are definitely worth a visit.

Who is Ozturk Sarica? Why Did Lisinia Establish Nature?
Öztürk Sarıca, the founder of Lisinia Doğa, was born and raised in Akçaköy, Yeşilova district of Burdur. He is also a veterinarian, having worked as a veterinarian for many years. Öztürk Sarıca, as the sole heir of the family after he lost many members of his family, including his mother, father and grandfather, to cancer, transfers all his savings and his own savings to the Lisinia Doğa project. For Öztürk Sarıca, this project is like building a hospital or a school in memory of their loss.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness about cancer and to convey the message that the further we get away from natural life, the more likely we will be to get cancer and similar diseases. This project was implemented to tell people what kind of life we should live, what we should do, how we should eat, in order not to get cancer.
Akçaköy is also the village of our famous writer Fakir Baykurt. Akçaköy is also the village where Lavanta Creek, Turkey's largest lavender garden, was founded under the leadership of Öztürk Sarıca.
Projects Within Lisinia
Within Lisinia; 8 main projects and sub-projects of these projects are being implemented in order to protect nature and transfer it to future generations.
- A cancer-free future is in our hands: The aim of this project is to create a society with “a developed awareness of cancer”, to ensure a conscious life, and thus to minimize the possible risks. Within the scope of the project, a cancer house and cancer pyramids were built in the Lisinia Nature area, and visitors were informed about the effects of cancer worldwide.
- From Lisinia to the World: Let Burdur Lake live to live!: In order to save Burdur Lake, which dries up quickly, studies are carried out to create an exemplary model in the surrounding villages and throughout the region, and to promote this model primarily to the region and then to the world, and to ensure that water use is directed correctly on a global scale.
- Wildlife Rehabilitation Center: Lisinia is one of the first Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers of our country. This is a place that was donated to the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs for 10 years, with all expenses and rehabilitation of the animals covered by Öztürk Sarıca. Since wildlife is the property of the state, such a solution was found. Wild animals that have been injured, caught in electrical wires or shot by hunters are brought here to be cared for and fed. While healed animals are released back to nature, animals that cannot survive in nature that are not completely healed are constantly hosted. While storks and pigs are the most frequent visitors, animals such as wolves, hawks and eagles can also be rehabilitated in the center. Visitors to Lisinia can also see these animals from a distance.
- Lisinia Nature School: Students from different provinces of Turkey come to experience what is being done in Lisina. Here, they witness the agricultural and animal husbandry practices by seeing and practicing.
- Volunteer nature protector: People who come from different parts of Turkey and the world and work voluntarily in Lisinia are trained here as volunteer nature protectors. Thus, when they return to their homes, they have the opportunity to apply what they have learned here.
- Ecological production and nature-friendly agricultural practices: Organic Agriculture Certification processes have been started with reference to the quality agricultural practices made without the use of any pesticides and chemicals for centuries in the lands where Lisinia was founded.
- Production of native plant and animal species and gene preservation: The collection and breeding of native animal breeds and plant species is another of Lisinia's projects. In this context, local seeds and domestic animal species were explained by visiting the villages and local products were encouraged.
- Lisinia takes its energy from nature!: Lisinia Doğa project uses solar, wind and water energy to use 100% clean energy. Thus, it supports the philosophy of protecting nature.
How to Volunteer at Lisinia?
Lisinia Nature is not a place to worry about financial gain. The main goal is to reach as many people as possible. With this philosophy, the project does not accept donations in order not to be dependent on any person or institution. Donations are not accepted, but if you want to work voluntarily, you can come and work as a volunteer at Lisinia Doğa for 3 days or 3 years. Products Sold in Lisinia Doga
Basically, aromatic plants are produced in Lisinia. Most cancers start in the skin. The chemicals we put on our bodies, all kinds of cleaning agents, shampoos, bleaches, as well as what we eat and drink, are actually carcinogenic. The only protector of the skin is the oils produced by the skin itself. When we wash with chemicals, we remove this protective layer. While explaining the harm of these products to people, Lisinia also produces natural creams, oils, waters and soaps.
