How is Passport Renewal Made Due to Marriage?
According to the Citizenship Law, if your surname has changed due to marriage, you have to change your passport as well. In other words, if one of the information in the passport has changed, it is necessary to change the passport as well.
If the passport you are going to change still has a validity period, only the passport wallet fee is sufficient for passport renewals. You will not need to reinvest the passport fee.
What you need to do for passport renewal due to marriage is the same as what you need to do for passport renewal. Briefly;

- You go and apply in person on the day and time you make an appointment.
- Your new passport is sent to you by mail.

Documents Required for Passport Renewal
When renewing your passport, due to marriage or any other reason, you must have the following documents with you.
- The original of your identity card (of course, you need to renew your identity card first due to marriage)
- 2 biometric photos (now you know which photographer you go to)
- A receipt showing that the passport wallet amount has been paid to contracted banks or to the Treasury cashiers.
- If you want to extend the period while it is ready, a receipt showing that the passport fee has been paid to the contracted banks or the Finance cashiers.
- Original passports, if any

Can I get a visa with my passport with my maiden name?
While some countries accept visa applications of women with a maiden name in their passport with a marriage license (for example, America), some countries do not (for example, France). Therefore, if you are going to apply for a visa with your old passport, it is a good idea to call the consulate and ask beforehand. Don't get any last minute surprises later 🙂
Can I fly with the plane ticket I bought before I got married?
Let's say you bought a plane ticket with your maiden name before you got married, while you got married and of course your surname changed. Your plane ticket has remained with your old surname.
