Time has flown like water and it's time for the tickets we bought from Qatar Airways' campaign to go to Vietnam months ago. Vietnam It was one of the countries I would most like to see in Asia, so I am very excited about this trip. But we only have a week so we had to remove many places I wanted to see from our list 🙁
We are making our trip with 3 people; me, my wife Özgür and my best friend Aydan. We decided on our route together.
9-Day Vietnam Travel Route – Daily Plan
Our journey starts from Istanbul on Friday
DAY 1: We will reach Hanoi with 2 transfers on Saturday afternoon. Our flight route will be: Istanbul > Doha > Bangkok > Hanoi. We will only have this evening in Hanoi. We didn't want to waste time here. Those who have time can go to Sapa, which is famous for its rice terraces.
DAY 2: We leave Hanoi for a 1-night boat tour to Halong Bay on Sunday. Sunday will be spent in the UNESCO protected Halong Bay.
DAY 3: The Halong Bay tour continues until noon on Monday. We will return to Hanoi in the afternoon (around 4 hours from Halong to Hanoi) and in the evening we will take the overnight sleeper bus to Hue.
DAY 4: We are in Hue on Tuesday morning. We have all day to visit these places.
DAY 5: We will depart for Hoi An on Wednesday at noon. We are in Hoi An at night.
DAY 6: On Thursday afternoon, our flight from Danang Airport to Ho Chi Ming is in the afternoon. The flight from Hoi An to Danang is about 1 hour.
DAY 7: We plan to tour the Mekong Delta on Friday. Day trips from Ho Chi Ming.
DAY 8: Saturday morning we will see the Chi Chu Tunnels, which bear the traces of the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, the return journey begins again.
DAY 9: On Sunday, we will have completed our route to Ho Chi Ming > Bangkok > Doha > Istanbul and we will be back home.
There are a lot of places to see in Vietnam, but as I said, we took a lot of things out of our route to fit in one week. It seems like it would be ideal for 1 days to visit Vietnam.

Istanbul-Vietnam was 550usd if I remember correctly.
I'm asking to get information about my possible future plans. Is Hanoi a city worth staying for 2-3 days?
2 days must stay for sure, it was one of my favorite cities.
