Paris City of Love

Paris, is known as the city of love… Although I can't see anything about love!

Abroad Paris was one of the first places I wanted to see in my travels, and it was the same for many people. If I had my current mind, it wouldn't be at the top of my travel list, but cities to see in the world It would be on my list.

Where to Stay in Paris

The old city of Paris, that is, the part where the main attractions are located, consists of 20 main regions. Within these 20 regions, there is a metro station every 500 meters. For that reason Where to stay in ParisBeing in this big circle and having a metro stop nearby are prerequisites for easy travel and stay.

Paris is a little more expensive in terms of hotels compared to other European cities. For that reason cheap travel You can choose hotels or hostels with shared bathrooms and toilets. There is an option for every budget.

Paris Attractions

Let's get to the main issue. Where to visit and see in Paris?

places to visit in Paris I tried to prepare a list like pills for it, I hope there is no important place I forgot:

1. Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower
Eiffel Tower

Eiffel TowerI recommend you to see and go out both at night and during the day. So you can see Paris day and night from above. Eiffel is a difficult destination for those who have a fear of heights, but it must be tried. By the way, there is no elevator in one of the four legs of the tower, you have to walk halfway up. If you are confident in your fitness, you can try this too.

When you go to the Eiffel, you will definitely see the Grand Palace opposite, at least from the tower. You can also take beautiful Eiffel photos from the Grand Palace.

2. Notre Dame Cathedral

Our LadyThere is no one who does not know the Hunchback. Notre Dame Church is also where this story takes place. Frankly, it was a rather modest building compared to many churches and cathedrals I've seen. The roads leading to the church, which is located on an islet on the Seine River, were more enjoyable for me than the church. You can spend time here with its colorful shops selling souvenirs and small cafes.

3. Champs Elysées Boulevard

The famous Champs-Elysées. The widest avenue of Paris with the Victory Monument at the entrance. On this street, you can see the most luxurious stores of the world's most expensive brands. You may not be able to enter elegant restaurants without a reservation.

4. Louvre Museum

Of course one of the symbols of Paris Louvre Museum. If you really have time for the museum, take it wide apart. Add up all the museums you've visited so far, multiply by two, that's how big it is 🙂

Inside, there are thousands of artifacts from the Ottoman Empire to the Far East, painting and sculpture examples of the period, and the life of Western culture. I could only visit one tenth of it in half a day.

5. Sacre Coeur Basilica

Sacre Coeur A magnificent church built on the Montmartre hill, the highest point of Paris.

You can sit on the steps of the church and enjoy Paris from here. If you are lucky, you will come across a mini-concert of a street singer and enjoy your time.

Another feature of this hill is that it is the place for artists. When you go through the street next to the church, you will come to the street cafes and the area where many street painters exhibit their works. You can get yourself a painting from here, who knows?

my uncle who is a painter Hasan Saygin He worked as a street painter when he first went to Paris and met his wife here… Who knows, maybe you'll find love there too 🙂

6.Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge cabaret, famous for its red mill. If you have time and money, you can watch a dinner show here one evening. You can find detailed information about prices and the show on the official website of Moulin Rouge.

 7. Boat Trip on the Seine

One of the enjoyable activities to do in Paris is a boat tour on the Seine. In addition to the dinner-music versions, you can also join the classic city tour during the day. The guide describes the highlights in several different languages. There are stops near the Eiffel.

8. La Defense

La Defense is the business district outside the walls of the old city of Paris. “Why will he go to see Maslak who comes to Istanbul?” you may ask. The peculiarity of this place is that it is on the royal road and the road to the Louvre museum leads directly here. When you get there, if you turn around and look, you will come face to face with the Louvre Museum.

9. St. Church of Eustache

It is not a church that is often seen in guidebooks, so I discovered this place by chance while wandering the streets. Definitely a more magnificent church than Notre Dame, but of course it was more neglected.

The stairs that Gil was waiting for in Midnight in Paris are the stairs of this church, so I guess it's pretty famous now.

There was also a statue in the square in front of it that I loved it 🙂

10. Opera House

The opera house, which is a very magnificent building, is also among the places to be seen.

Shopping in Paris

shopping in Paris If you do, the last thing you should do is bargain. You may encounter a negative reaction as they are not used to it.

Walk around especially when you see cosmetics and perfume shops, you can find cosmetics at very affordable prices.

I don't have a habit of shopping much in my trips abroad, but since every woman going to Paris asks for a shopping, I will write down the main places I see.

Champs Elysées Boulevard

We mentioned the Champs Elysées above. Europe's most stylish stores are waiting for you on this wide boulevard.

Galeries La Fayett

This store, which you will see in other cities of France, is very successful in interior decoration. Its main store in Paris is built in an old building, even if you don't shop, you should definitely go and take a tour.

Forum Les Halles

In fact, it caught my attention with its design towards the bottom of the ground.

Paris Metro

While visiting Paris, you may feel that you are visiting the city underground, and you are not wrong. If the distances are long and the weather is mostly cool, the subway is the fastest and, of course, the most common solution.

The Paris metro is like a labyrinth, luckily the signage is pretty good so you won't get lost.

Each metro stop has a different concept and design. Therefore, if you are using the Paris metro for the first time, it will be a very enjoyable journey for you.

Midnight in Paris movie

Woddy Allen's Midnight in Paris movie, which was screened last year, must be watched before going.

I found a very nice site for those who are wondering where the frame in the movie takes place:  Movie-Locations.com

Must-See Places Near Paris

Also, if you think you have time while you've been to Paris, include the must-see places close to Paris on your list:

Disneyland

Disneyland is a must see. You can reach Disneyland directly by RAR train, with a connecting transfer from the Paris metro. You'll be there in about an hour. If you are going during a busy period, be sure to buy your ticket in advance and even make reservations for the sections you will enter. It consists of two separate parts as Disneyland Park and Studios. My advice, first determine the times of the shows you want to watch from the studios, then plan your time according to the activities in the park. By the way, Disney products are a big trap for shopping lovers 🙂

Palace of Versailles

Palace of VersaillesIt is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is famous for its toilet and bathroom design.

You can reach here by RAR train journey of about half an hour from Paris. I admit that I prefer Disneyland over Versailles 🙂

Stay on the Road!

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.

  1. Hello,

There was the same error in a few travel articles. Church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont in Midnight in Paris. Right behind the Pantheon.

  2. I hoooped information like pills on my Google maps. I think we will prefer Disney instead of Versailles. thank you

    • Since I am trying to travel in Paris in the most economical way, I do not have any recommendations for private dining places 🙂
I remember the crepes were nice 🙂

  3. Well, it's very nice. We went to Paris without reading your article. Believe me, we've done eighty percent of it. We did two days paris and two days disneyland. Definitely recommend. We will go to Paris again in a year or two. But this time, we will not go around the rose, we will only stop in a couple of places. I also recommend you the cote d azur tour. We went in very hot March and it was very nice. Now my only goal is BARCELONA

  4. Everything was great, but it was very expensive. I had a hard time with the price because I stayed for a long time. I waited for a long time to go to the top of the eiffel tower, but everything was fine. I would like to go again, thanks for the article.

  5. Hello, Ms. Sevil, your articles were very useful for me, we have a trip to Paris in June, we will stay in Disneylan, we will even stay at the hotel there, let's go to Paris by subway, we couldn't decide, I heard that the auto-paths are very expensive, but the subway tickets of a family of 3 will be the same as the parking fee, an idea for me Can you give

    • Hello,

Go to Paris by metro and you will have to find a parking space in the city center and pay the parking fee. The ticket price should be 7.6 euros, and it takes about 45 minutes.

Disneyland is so much fun, enjoy it 🙂

  6. places to visit in paris

Hello, the information you provided was very helpful to me. Sometimes I even came across the places in this article while I was traveling and thought of your blog 🙂 Places to visit in Paris do not end in summer, but you have summarized it well. thank you

  7. Hello, I was going to ask if there is a city that you think is worth visiting, although we do not hear much about it, which can be visited close to Paris?

    • I would definitely say go to Disneyland 🙂

In the northwest of France there is a place called Mt.Saint Michael, you can go there or east to Strasbourg.

  8. Hello,
I have lived in Paris for many years and travel a lot for work.

The best hotels to stay in Paris are those around the Boulevard Peripherique (Ringway).
I usually stay at Hotel IBIS Porte de Bagnolet. 50-60 euro/room per day. You can stay 2-3 people.
The more affordable IBIS BUDGET and the slightly more expensive Mister Bed City are side by side.
The 4-star Novotel 78 euro/night just ahead. If you book these hotels on accorhotels.com, you will save.
Also very close to a big shopping center. Center Commercial Auchan.
    (closed on Sundays)
It is 3 meters from the last stop of Metro 200 Gallieni. At this stop, you can go wherever you want in Paris.
You will stay at least 3 days, I recommend you to buy Navigo. If less, buy subway tickets in tens.

I also strongly recommend you to visit the Saint Michel square, which is close to the Notre dame church, and the taverns in the side street and eat there.

    Have a good journey.

      • Hello, as someone who knows Paris, I want to ask you something, http://en.parismuseumpass.com/ I want to buy Paris Pass – 2 Day card online from this internet address, the price is quite affordable for me, the river cruise, the eiffel wonderful museum entrances plus the metro are free. In such a case, the question comes to my mind, how can I get the card for the thing I bought online. There is no e-mail address on the site, so I wanted to consult you about whether you have information.

Thank you and have a nice day

  9. Paris is a magnificent city, a city of history, but it is extremely expensive and clean. It is a city that should be seen as zero.

  10. Are there any specific hotels you can recommend for accommodation in Paris? The hotels I am currently looking at are around 5 euros for 2 people for 1000 nights, and this is a very high price for us. Or would you suggest a more specific hotel in which region I should search?

  11. A few tips about Paris from me.

If you want to visit a lot of museums, get a museumpass.
It is sold in tourist information offices in the form of 2-4-6 day cards. There is an office at the airport. You write the start date on the back of the card. It makes more sense to start the card in the morning, considering that most museums close around 6pm. Since you don't have to wait to buy tickets in many museums, you can make a priority pass. Some even have separate entrances for museum pass holders, so you'll have to wait even less in the security check queue. It is ideal for entering the Louvre, especially during busy periods. While everyone is waiting for the entrance security control, you can pass through the special entrance next to the metro exit. Once inside, you do not need to enter the ticket queue. However, the Museum Pass is not valid for the Eiffel.

The Eiffel can be very crowded, especially during peak periods. If you are confident enough to take the stairs to the first two floors of the Eiffel 3 floor, you can wait in a queue less. Or you can make an online reservation beforehand and wait less in line. But it may be necessary to act early. http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/

There are 2 options for transportation: Tourist pass or Navigo. Turistpass is sold from tourist information offices. We can use it in 5 regions of Paris, which consists of 3 regions. Navigo is sold at train and metro stations. I would recommend it if you are going to stay longer. Because when you get a navigation covering all 5 regions, you can use it to go from the airport to the city and Disneyland. The bad part of the navigation is that the weekly ones are valid from Monday to Sunday. So if you buy it on Friday, you can use it until Sunday. You can get all the details from the tourist information offices.

    • Thank you very much for the useful information Ahmetci 🙂
Do you have a place you would recommend for a marriage proposal 🙂

  12. Paris is an amazing city. It's the only place I've seen that takes me away from me and makes me want to live there. However, in my opinion, if you only look at places to visit in Paris, you would be wrong. When you take a panoramic view from Sacre Cour or the Eiffel, it's actually not a very beautiful sight.

However, as described in the Woody Allen movie you mentioned, if you try to live in Paris like a Parisian and absorb that Parisian lifestyle and enjoy it, you will not look for another place in the world.
