In 2010 14 days 11 cities Europe I had set out to travel and extended my vacation to 20 cities for 12 days and came back. One of my favorite stops on this trip was Spain.

Even being stranded in Spain was very nice, although the conversion was delayed by a week due to the volcanic ash being stuck there 🙂

Why Spain?

before in Spain Barcelona ve Figures I had the opportunity to see the cities of Spain, this time the first stop in Spain was Madrid.

Maybe one of the reasons I feel close to Spain is that wherever I go in the world, they think I'm Spanish and start speaking Spanish. This is a lively country full of enthusiastic, excited and colorful people like me.

Far from the boring order of Europe, but not behind Europe in modernity; A country nourished by Arab and Ottoman culture, full of art, history, sun and sun, Spain is a country full of art.

When we set off, we were only going to see Madrid and return, but when our trip was prolonged due to compulsory reasons, it was also enjoyable to include Barcelona in our trip and visit Catalonia for the second time.

Raging Bull Madrid

Madrid is a raging bull, Madrid is a riot of colours, Madrid is a city where the action does not stop for twenty-four hours…

Madrid is the city of wine, love, flesh and blood, the color of Madrid is red!

The red belt worn by Madrid residents is also a symbol of courage and desire.

Places to Visit in Madrid

Plaza Mayor is considered the center of Madrid. Once upon a time, all ceremonies and celebrations were held in this square, and tickets were sold for 400 balconies overlooking the square. The square is entered through 9 arched gates passing under the buildings.

If you spend your entire Madrid trip in a cafe on the Sol Square (Puerte del Sol), you can have a lot of information about Madrid. In the middle of this square, there is a sign believed to show the center of the world. There the movement continues endlessly. Street performers, dancers, youngsters and old people sitting on the floor and having fun… As if all of Madrid met there… of course, see more places while you're there.

The bear and strawberry tree, the symbol of Madrid, are also in this square.

You can see many places within walking distance of each other in very close distances in Madrid. The “Metropolis” in almost all Madrid photographs, the Cibeles Square at the end of that road, the Cybele statue in the square and the museum district are also located here.

Where the museums end is Buen Retiro Park. There is an artificial lake, long hiking trails and a botanical garden within the park.

One of the things that describe Madrid is the bullfights. You can watch the bullfights, which are still possible in the city, at Plaza Toros.

You can start the tour from Old Madrid and finish the day in Plaza Mayor again. You can start from the magnificent Royal Palace and continue to Plaza Espana, where Don Quixote greets you. Around the Cervantes monument, you can fall under the influence of magnificent buildings.

You can take the cable car to Oeste Park and enjoy the view below and the view of the royal palace opposite. On the way back from the park, you can visit the Egyptian Temple, which Egypt gave as a gift to Spain for its help in the construction of the Aswan dam.

Spanish seafood dishes, flamenco and lively nightlife are other reasons that make Madrid attractive. It is a must-see city for those who love Spanish style.

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.
