A warm-blooded, chirpy, fully Mediterranean city, Barcelona, one of Spain's favorite cities, is one of the rare cities I've been to twice. places to visit in barcelona I've gathered my experiences about it in this article, enjoy reading!
If you are going to Barcelona, the first thing to know is that you are going to Catalonia, not Spain. The people of Barcelona resent being called Spaniards. They are Catalan and speak Catalan…
When you go to Barcelona, you will literally feel yourself in a Mediterranean city with its warm-blooded, fun-loving, dark-skinned people, sun and nature.
Barcelona is among the cities that became beautiful and “revived” due to the Olympic Games… Moreover, this city owes its beauty to Gaudi's magnificent works of art. Gaudi almost adorned the city and you can go and see how successful he was in this regard.
Safety in Barcelona
For Barcelona, at the time I went (2007), there were too many safety alerts. In places such as subways and trains, warnings were made to "beware of snatching your bags". Smuggling was especially common, so I used to throw my "valuables" in my crossbody bag and my other stuff in my backpack.

Places to Visit in Barcelona
Below I list the places that must be on your list of places to visit in Barcelona.
Aquarium, the Barcelona version of Turkuazoo
This is one of the huge aquariums you can find in many cities. Since my first trip to Barcelona was among my first trips abroad, I was trying to miss any place on the list of places to see, I wouldn't go now though. I no longer include places such as aquariums and zoos on my travel list.
Palau Guell
Palau Güell, one of Gaudi's works, is one of the must-see places to watch Barcelona from above and admire Gaudi once again. You will find traces of Gaudi's genius in a huge park area. If you go early in the morning, you will have a chance to catch it more secluded.
Dali Museum
One of the rightful pride of the Spaniards is undoubtedly Saldavor Dali. If you don't have the chance to go to the huge museum in Figueres Village, I suggest you see the Dali Museum in the city center of Barcelona. Perfect to admire Dali's mad genius once again.
La Boqueria Market
La Boqueria is a lively market place. You will see it while walking on La Rambla and you will inevitably enter inside. Do not forget to stop by the bazaars of the cities you visit.
Palace of Music
Palau means palace. This is an old building with amazing ceiling decorations inside. On my second visit to Barcelona, I watched a flamenco show here, it was amazing, I highly recommend it.
Parc Joan Miro
Dali, Gaudi and Joan Miro. Artists who come to mind first in the word Barcelona. They have made a beautiful park that can attract the attention of Joan Miro fans. You can also add this place to your list.
Casa Terrades & Casa Batllo
Again, 2 houses built by Gauidi can be visited as museums.
Sagrada Familia
AND of course the Sagra da Familia. Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind when Barcelona is mentioned is Gaudi's unfinished church and great masterpiece. Do not just wander outside, but if you can afford to queue, go to the roof.
The Sagra da Familia is, in my opinion, a testament to how lazy the Catalans are, they haven't been able to finish it for 250 years.
Font Magic
Font Magica water show accompanied by classical music should not be missed, the show is held after 19:00.
Barcelona Stadium Camp Nou (Nou Camp)
For those interested in football, it might not be a bad idea to see the Barcelona Stadium or even watch a match if your trip coincides with match time.
Mont Juic Castle
To watch the city from above, you can take the cable car up to Mont Juic from the marina. You can also visit the castle on the hill.
If you have time, beautiful parks and the Barcelona coastline are good options to spend time.
The most not to be missed experience is to take a day off and go to Salvador Dali's village, Figueres. Soak up his genius, be inspired. Eat Spanish food in the village's small square.
What to Eat in Barcelona?
Let me start by saying you won't go hungry in Barcelona.
Tapas
The center of the city, La Rambla, corresponds to Istiklal Street in our country. It gets crowded especially in the afternoon. Tourists, souvenir sellers and florists... You can see many places within walking distance of this street, you can go down to the marina and have your fill at Tapas bars made from various kinds of seafood. We can say that tapas corresponds to our appetizer. Small snacks with seafood mainly served on bread.
paela
Of course, when it comes to Barcelona, it is impossible not to try the lemon wines called Sagrea and the famous Paelas. Paela is a kind of rice. You should try the paellas with vegetables, chicken, sea food and meat for all tastes.
sangrea
You should drink a big jug of Sangrea with lots of lemon next to Paela... Sangrea makes the wine sweeter with the fruits added to the wine. They also fill it with ice so it's a cool drink on hot days. It is usually ordered with a jug. One glass is never enough!
One of the delightful European cities, summer heat can be a problem. Spring or autumn may be better alternatives to travel and enjoy the sea.
Barcelona's nightlife is also not bad at all. The young population, especially the number of women, is very high. Entertainment continues until late in the big nightclubs.
It's the Mediterranean 🙂

Hello, you have a very good energy and one of my dreams is a trip to South Africa. Here I came across the article "Barcelona". If there is time, we went to Tibidabo on foot 🙂 It is magnificent and if you can go to the church here by paying 2 euros, you will see a beautiful view of Barcelona. There is also an amusement park here. It has city views and Barcelona's highest altitude. I recommend that you take something to eat and drink with you when you go out on the road because sometimes you can get lost on a long road 🙂 I wish you a good trip.
Do you have any recommendations for the immediate surroundings of Barcelona? Where specifically for the sea?
Hello, I have the opportunity to go to Barcelona for 2 days. As someone who loves Gaudi, where would you recommend me to go and how can I get to the places you wrote above, rather than advice, metro, bus, bike, etc.?
Hello,
Many places in Barcelona can be reached by metro. You can also use hop-on hop-offs.
You can also rent scooters or bicycles.
So many options.
If you love Gaudi, you will love Barcelona.
: )
Hello. Do you remember the name of which hotel you stayed at in Barcelona? Is there a hotel in the center that you can recommend? Thank you.
I arrange the hotels through booking.com. Being close to the center is my most important criterion. You can find it there too. I can't remember the name.
I'll be there in a few days! 🙂
what does it mean, we follow your articles with love, if i catch you, i will write again 🙂
My dear, I did not go, but I have to specify 2 things;
La Sagrada Familia was started to be built in 1882 with the help of the people. And the reason why it is not finished is that it continues to be built with the help of the people, symbolically. It is thought to lose its value if it is finished.
And the name of the Barcelona Stadium you mentioned; It is Camp Nou (Nou Camp).
Yours.
Thanks for the information Banucum 🙂
