With its beautiful beaches, natural beauties, volcanoes, world-famous temples representing different faiths and diving spots, Indonesia has gathered all the advantages of being a community of islands.

In Indonesia, we spent time on the islands of Java, Bali and Flores, in this article you will see the places we saw and the times we spent on each island.

Java Island – Yogyakarta 3 Days

We can call Java Island the heart of Indonesia. Besides being the capital city of Jakarta on this island, the majority of the population also lives on this island. Jakarta is also a point where you can find economic flight tickets, so we flew to Jakarta and then took a domestic flight to Yogyakarta. Jakarta doesn't offer anything worth wasting time like many other country capitals do, so if you're short on time, there's no need to include it in your itinerary. Yogyakarta is a backpacker paradise. You can evaluate your time in Yogyakarta as follows.

Java Island – Malang 2 Days

Malang is the closest major city to Java Island's most famous volcanoes. You can choose Malang to go to Bromo and Ijen. You can take the night train from Yogyakarta to Malang so you can save a day. Malang is one of the important cities of the island of Java. The reason why it is important for us is that it is the exit point to Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater. both Mount Bromo as well as Ijen Crater The ascents start around 02:00 at night, so you can reach the summits of the volcano at sunrise yesterday and enjoy the magnificent views. You can join the daily tours for mountain climbing, or you can take one night and two day package tours for Ijen and Bromo. Accommodation is also included in the package tour, if your plan is to go to Bali Island, at the end of the tour they will drop you off at Gilimanuk port at the departure point of Bali ferries.

Bali Island – Ubud 3 Days

Although Bali is one of the most famous islands in Indonesia and the most popular honeymoon island in the world, it must be said that the island that represents Indonesia the least is Bali. While all Indonesia is Muslim, 80% of the island of Bali is Hindu. On this occasion, there are many Hindu temples, yoga centers, and massage parlors on the island. Contrary to popular belief, the island of Bali is located in the center of the island and has no shore, instead of the lively areas by the sea. Ubud area It deserves to be seen and time spent. You can visit the temples on the island, take long walks among the magnificent rice terraces, and make friends with the monkeys in the monkey forest with a car, motorbike or daily tour you can take from Ubud. At the end of the walks, you can reward yourself with a massage.

A wide range of holiday options await you in Ubud, from concept boutiques to world cuisine, from cafes where you can drink Indonesian coffee to nightclubs, from massage parlors to hotels with a design wonder. This is the island of Bali that is worth the most time.

Bali – Seminyak 1 Day

If you came to Bali to swim; Seminyak or another beachside or Gili Islands are the places to be preferred. Luckily for us, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the sea as it was rainy. If you are into surfing, there are many beaches on Bali where you can surf and even take surfing lessons. You can also think of it as Turkey's Cesme, where you can find different cuisines in concept cafes and restaurants in the Seminyak region.

Flores Island – Komodo – 3 Days

We flew from Bali to Flores Island (Labuan Bajo). The reason why we prefer this place is that the country's important diving points are here and there are only ones in the world here. Komodo Dragons was to see. Flores was the highlight of our trip, nestled in the rainforest on one of Indonesia's most remote and pristine destinations. Komodo Islands The richness of the underwater and the daily life that has not yet become a tourist attraction were the features that impressed us the most. We did not want to return from this island, where we spent 2 days diving and 1 day resting, and we did not even want to return so much that we almost missed our return flight due to the delay of our return flight from Labuan Bajo.

Islands to visit in Indonesia

Our 2-week trip cost usd 1750 per person, of which 750 USD was the flight ticket and 1000 USD was all our other expenses.

We saw the largest number of places to be seen in two weeks and fit many different activities such as 2 volcano walks, sea, diving, temples in this period. Although going to the country is costly, traveling within the country, food and beverage, accommodation is quite cheap. If you find an affordable ticket, don't miss it, add it to your travel plans.

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.
