Lately, I often come across the question of how do you travel so much, how do you find time and money for this? I wanted to explain at length how I did it.

Is traveling addictive?
Is traveling addictive?

How to Find Time to Travel?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions to me: "How do you find so much time to travel?"

Let's tackle the time issue first. Time/timelessness is always relative to the individual (Long Live Einstein). We always complain that we don't have time for work, to tidy our room, to meet friends, to read a book. But we try to make time for things we love and make us happy. In that case, time becomes something that can be created.

It is no different for me. I create time to see new places, learn new things, rediscover the places I know. Sometimes it's just a weekend, sometimes 10 days. It's all about your choices to solve this in a busy work schedule. It is in our hands to turn the April 23 holiday into a 4-day holiday opportunity by taking another day off. Or a 3-day getaway with a Monday off. Believe me, our productivity will increase when you go back to work. Give yourself little breaks from time to time. One of the advantages of living in Turkey is that there are frequent holidays: Eid al-Fitr, Eid-al-Adha, 23 April, 19 May, 1 May (now), etc. The important thing is to turn these holidays into travel opportunities. For those who do their own business, unfortunately, I have nothing to say. Let them try to find a way to create time, too.

One of the reasons I said about your choices is that you have to choose between “I will spend time with my family during these holidays, I have work to finish, I have homework”. You can solve this by maintaining balance. It's like you spend the Ramadan holiday with your family and you make a travel program in Kurban.

Who to Travel with?

You created time. Another question is who to go with. Not everyone around you may be as enthusiastic about traveling as you are. This also has solutions:

  • You can persuade or even forcefully take a few friends with whom you get along well. By saying one or two, they may become more enthusiastic than you.
  • You can participate in excursions within an organization. For example, the Gezenbilir forum may have established an association, or it could be a tour company you trust.
  • You saw that nothing happens, get your head and go. Traveling alone, vacationing alone can sometimes be much more fun than you expect. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Where to Find Money to Travel?

Let's get to the main topic. How will we finance these trips, where will we find the money to travel so much?

There are two important points here. The first is how to find money for vacation. We talked about the elections, that's where those elections come into play. Of course, traveling and seeing new places have a price. Going to less Starbucks, buying fewer shoes (women understand what I mean), reducing nightlife, eating at home instead of eating out… The list could go on even longer. In summary; It is a good start to reduce the amount of money you spend on the places you regularly spend and transfer this money to the travel fund 🙂

How to Spend Less Money on Vacation?

Secondly, how to spend less money on vacation. I have written some things about this in my previous articles. Planning a trip is a serious time-consuming task. So is making it cheap…

  • Possible holiday dates (must have alternatives) are determined.
  • During this holiday period, places to go according to the season (must have alternatives) are determined.
  • Those dates and the most suitable means of transportation to the destination are determined.
  • All possible alternatives for the determined transportation vehicle are evaluated. For example, if you are going to go by plane, price research is done from all airlines flying to the destination. Note that it is not necessary to fly directly. You have the chance to find a very cheap intercity flight ticket in Europe after you leave Turkey for Europe. This is the part that will take the most time.
  • You have found the ticket, you can start searching the hotels. Booking.com good alternative. The important point here is that it should be in the city center, have good comments and be close to transportation vehicles. So you don't have to pay extra for transportation.
  • Balance your expenses wherever you go. For example, you can eat something light at lunch and eat special meals for the place you go for dinner. Stop by the Tourism Offices and search for the advantages of package prices. These may include museum entrances or transportation.
  • The last and most important point is that you do not try to buy gifts for all your friends and/or family wherever you go. This could be your biggest expense item. Don't forget to buy a little something to keep as a souvenir for yourself.

It was a long post. I hope that will be useful. With all my love to everyone who wants to travel but does not have the opportunity to do so...

  1. A nice and informative article. Health to your hands. I think that there are still wonderful places to see in Turkey without spending a lot of money. Foça, Dikili, Çandarlı etc. places are very economical.

  2. I travel everywhere I go, I definitely participate in the boat tour, Bodrum, Fetfiye, Marmaris I participated in all of them, but hisarönü is the first pie I went this year and I say there is absolutely nothing like a boat tour in hisarönü, you should definitely join it.

  3. Traveling means a tour, a tour means a boat tour, when you come to Marmaris, you will definitely have visited the whole of Marmaris by joining the Marmaris boat tour.

  4. There are 8 different boat tours in Marmaris, all of them are beautiful, all of them are different from each other. I recommend you to go to at least one of them during your holiday.

  5. You're pretty sweet.. The summer was so long, I thought I couldn't finish it, I looked again and it's over. I'm a workaholic, I haven't been able to take a vacation for five years, I really want to, I can't go out. I think I'm going out this weekend. As you said, it's a choice and I've made my choice and I will do what is necessary. I will follow you now. Thank you for your informative article. I was wondering about something, how will I ensure security as a single woman for international trips, and how do you handle visa procedures, I would be glad if you tell me...

    • Thanks for your attention 🙂
I have never had a problem with security until today, I can say that I trust my intuition as a woman 🙂
I handle visa procedures like everyone else 🙂
