Things to do in Athens Check out my suggestions too.

karamanlidika

First place to eat and drink in Athens, dear first Yeser, then the beloved living in Athens Ayfer's went and liked karamanlidika restaurant. In fact, this place is more like a delicatessen rather than a restaurant, you can go and buy cheese and meat varieties, or you can sit down and eat. Sausage and pastrami are their real specialties. They came to Athens from Turkey, from Cappadocia. Apart from meat dishes, there are also fish options.

If you ask what to eat here, the menu is not very crowded, you can eat concise and very tasty dishes accompanied by ouzo or Greek wine. Meal prices are around 5-7 euros. Portions are large and satisfying. For the food you see in the photo below, we paid 4 euros for 52 people, including ouzo. In other words, you can get up with delicious food and alcohol for 12-13 euros per person.

It's almost impossible to find a place without a reservation, especially on weekends, so be sure to come in advance. from this link make a reservation. They opened a second place, we went to their first place.

There is also a very warm-blooded manager, he kisses all his customers on the way out. If you say you come from Turkey, extra attention is guaranteed. For the location of Karamanlidika Click.

A for Athens Rooftop Bar

A for Athens Rooftop bar is one of the places you will see in almost all Athens guides and recommended by all blogs. The reason is that the place located in Monastraki Square has a very beautiful view of the Acropolis. They say their cocktails are famous but we were so tired that we went inside just to see the view.

TRAVEL NOTE: It is possible to take a photo and go out, even if those who come just to watch the scenery do not like it, especially on the weekends, as it is very crowded.

Plate Zone

One of the places that comes to mind when you think of entertainment in Athens is the Plaka District. When I said I was going to Athens, many places were suggested for this region. We made our choice in favor of Psaras restaurant with the suggestion of a Greek blogger (we wanted it to be local).

Psaras Restaurant in Plaka

The food we ate at Psaras was mediocre and ordinary, unlike all the other meals we ate in Athens, so we do not recommend it. In addition, due to the fact that it is a touristic area, we paid 2 euros for 55 people for food and wine. That's a pretty high figure for Athens.

Kosta or Kostas Souvlaki

When you come to Greece, one of the foods you should definitely eat is souvlaki. Unlike ours, thick nails are made with pita bread, yoghurt and caciki are put in it. There are meat and chicken options, you can have meatballs or doner kebabs.

When we said we were going to Athens, many “Kosta” and “Kostas” wraps were offered. In fact, do not confuse, they warned that they are different, we found Kosta while looking for Kostas, and when we found it, we ate there.

Roll prices are 2,20 euros, drinks are 1 euro. 1 wrap does not satisfy, but suppresses hunger.

Acropolis Museum Cafeteria

The Acropolis Museum has a fairly large cafeteria. I think it is a very nice option to relax while visiting the museum or to take a coffee break against the view of the Acropolis. I don't want you to skip this place.

Adrianou Street

Adrianou Street

Adrianou Street is the street on the side of the train track as it moves from Monastraki Square to the Thissio district. There are many taverns and restaurants on this street and in an inner parallel. There are also places where Sirtaki is built on this street.

If you ask if there is street food in Athens, there is also a bagel besides wraps. You can find bagels for 0,50 euro cents almost everywhere. It is a little thinner than ours and the ring is made larger.

O Thanasis Restaurant

You will see many touristic restaurants on the street you will pass while walking from Monastraki Square to Plaka District. Do not be afraid of being a tourist, I recommend O Thanasis Restaurant where you can find fast service and delicious food even in the most crowded moment. We ate wraps for lunch here again. It has a very rich menu.

Wrap prices vary between 2.20 and 2.50 euros, depending on the meat.

Psyri Region

Psyri Region

Psyri is one of the newly popular areas of Athens. It is likened to Karaköy in Istanbul, but I found it more active than Karaköy. While it is chirping in the evening with its coffee shops, restaurants and taverns, it falls asleep during the day.

There are also concept venues that have become very popular here. Little Kook and Kings Theater are the most popular venues of this place, although I am not very interested.

Karamanlidika, which I first suggested, is also located in this region. In addition, there is a place called The Courtyard, which is highly recommended in this region, we took note of it for our next Athens trip, we will definitely go.

brettos

The most famous liquor store in Athens is Brettos, located in the Plaka District. In the place where you can taste wine during the daytime, it is so crowded that you will not fall down if you throw a needle in the evenings. Although it is famous for its liquors, I think it's the colorful bottle decoration that makes it famous, thanks to Instagram.

Drink prices in Brettos vary greatly depending on the type of drink, of course, starting from 5 euros and continuing upwards.

Athens is a food paradise, so it is very difficult to prepare a food and drink list with a 3-4 day trip. If you come in the summer, you can go to the places in the port of Piraeus to enjoy seafood. There are new districts in Athens, such as Psyri, whose popularity is increasing day by day, you can visit them too. If you are planning a quick trip, our list is not bad, I also wrote the place I do not recommend.
