Prague, Christmas Markets time gets better. Christmas Markets are set up in almost all squares, large and small. You will find the ones I visited among these markets that you can visit between November 25th and December 25th in my article on the Prague Christmas Markets, together with my comments. Happy reading!

Christmas Markets are a European tradition where everyone can buy gifts before Christmas and have fun in the squares with mulled wine, street food and concerts. The markets that started in Germany spread all over Europe over time and have become an important tourism gateway today.

Old Town Square

The Old Town Square, the most popular and crowded spot in Prague, also hosts the biggest and most colorful of the Prague Christmas Markets. They even made a map so you don't miss the many stands in the square. In addition to the stands selling mulled wine and sausages, which are indispensable for Christmas Markets, there are many stands where iron masters forge iron, glass masters show their mastery, colorful cookies are sold, and you can find souvenirs.

A high pavilion has been built on the square where you can go up and watch the whole square. And of course, if the Christmas Market is indispensable, the giant pine tree is waiting for you in this square.

Republic Square

Republic Square, which is a short walk from the Old Town Square, is also very crowded due to those who come to Palladium AVM. There are stands at 2 different points in the Square. While there is more food and drinks in one section, you can find handicraft stands on the other.

The most valid reason for choosing this place is that the prices are 20% cheaper than the market in the Old Town Square. The wine is the same wine, the sausage is the same sausage but the prices are better here. You can choose this place to visit the Old Town Square to eat or shop.

Wenceslas Square

Since Wenceslas Square is a long boulevard, the Christmas Market was established both at the beginning and at the end of this boulevard. Since this place is also a crossing point, the market was quite crowded at the time I went. Again, this is a market place that appeals to foodies with fewer souvenir stands besides plenty of food stands.

Prague Castle

The most beautiful market in the Christmas Market in Prague's Old Town is the Christmas Market behind the Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle, in my opinion. This is one of the important stops for tourists, just like the Old Town Square. For this reason, they have placed a large number of tables in this market to eat, which we do not see in other markets.

Little Neighborhood Square

Of course, there is also a Christmas Market in the Little Quarter, where you will pass as you descend from Prague Castle to the riverbank. But this is a pretty small market. There's no need to stop by, you'll have a look if you pass by.

There is also a small Christmas Market at the foot of the Charles Bridge. There are these markets in almost all the squares of the city. The most beautiful are those inside the Old Town Square and Prague Castle.

If you are wondering where to stay in Prague close to the Christmas Markets, where to look for accommodation in Prague, you can find a place that fits your budget by choosing the dates you plan to visit from the map below.
