Gulf of Saros… I am happy that the Gulf of Saros is not getting the attention it deserves, although I don't understand why... Danışment Forest Camp one of the hidden paradises in this beautiful bay.

Especially those who are engaged in diving and those who have started diving in Istanbul know the Saros Bay. It is at the northernmost tip of the Aegean with its immaculate beaches and sparkling coves. Despite its proximity to Istanbul, it is not a well-known place other than İbrice and Uzunkum, which is visited only by diving schools, and Erikli, which is known to summer vacationers.

On the other hand, it is good that it is not known much, one says in one's mind. If only these clean beaches and sparkling coves would remain like this?

Half of June has passed, the sea season has begun. Saros Bay is a real escape point for those who say they cannot get away from Istanbul for a long time. 290 km from Istanbul. It has many coves that you can reach within a distance. A resting area that you can easily reach in 3 hours by car and 4 hours by motorcycle (if you count the breaks). Calm, away from noise, with plenty of stars…

How to get to Danışment Orman Camp?

When you head towards Çanakkale from Tekirdağ, you reach the bay. Keşan, Enez and Gallipoli surround the bay. In order to go to the bays, you need to choose which of these 3 cities you want to go to. from Keşan; From Yayla, Erikli, Mecidiye, Gökçetepe, Danişment, Sazlıdere, Enez; From Enez, Vakıf, Büyükevren, Sultaniçe, Gülçavuş, and Gallipoli; Southern…

If you want to be in the forest, have a beach, and camp under lush trees, these are the ones I've tried and can recommend; Consultation. I can say that because I saw Mecidiye, Erikli, İbrice and Uzunkumu apart from Danişment. The camping area, which is affiliated to the Danışment Regional Directorate of Environment, offers all kinds of opportunities that may be needed for both daily picnics and tented camps.

After Keşan, you can easily find it by continuing as if you are going to Erikli and following the Danişment Forest Camp signs on the road. Except for the last 1 km section, the road is asphalt and very nice. It is descended to the cove by a stabilized road about 1 km.

The Environment Directorate leased the campsite to a private enterprise. There is a grocery store, a greengrocer, a restaurant. You can rent ready-made tents there, or you can stay in your own tent. The showers and toilets are the cleanest I've ever seen at a campsite.

What's in Danişment Forest Camp?

A large part of the camping area is parceled out for tents, electricity is provided, and there is water next to the parcels. They can also make this section available to groups on a daily basis.

If you stay with your own tent, 17,5 TL is paid per tent. In the grocery and restaurant section, prices are very reasonable. Where the forest ends, the sea begins. A certain part of the beach is sandy, this is the part where you can swim. Sea urchins are starting to appear as the sea floor is covered with pebbles. That's why you need to be careful if you are putting your feet on the ground. It's safe as long as you're careful.

If you want to be this close to Istanbul and yet so far from Istanbul, I recommend you to stop by for a weekend.

  1. We visited the Danishment Forest Camp in July last year. We stayed in this camp for 2 nights with 4 friends. In short, there are many opportunities in the camp, it is true (market cafe etc.) You can find everything you want, including alcohol. But unfortunately, hygienic friends are very difficult in cleaning the WCs and the environment The sea and the beach are beautiful. Having showers right next to the beach is a big advantage. If you want, you can get all your needs from the village near the camp.

  2. I'm in Danishment forest camp right now, thank God, I'm going tomorrow, the forest is beautiful, the sea and the beach are beautiful, but there is no service, WCs are terrible, the beach and tent areas are filthy, the water was not there today from noon to the evening, a refrigerator for hundreds of tents is empty in the market, you cannot find anything you are looking for, in short, the nature is beautiful, but the business is terrible you don't get what you pay for

  3. Rather than consulting, I'm curious about the closest places to visit (goal, waterfall, river, places with historical texture, entertainment venues, etc.), I would appreciate it if you inform me. respects.

  4. I will be here on August 13 . We are planning to have a holiday for about 9 days . Can you recommend places to visit or see , thank you in advance for your interest .

    • If you are going to be in Danışment, it is a cove, are you asking about places to visit in Saroz?

  6. Hello, I'm going to take a two-day vacation with my friends to Saroz Bay. There seems to be nice places to the left and right of the Ibrice harbor. What's your advice?

  7. Hello, we will fly from kayseri to istanbul in august and from there to the internal affairs camp in danişment. But how can we come by bus after istanbul?

    • I don't think there is bus transportation there. Maybe you can come to Keşan and take a taxi from there.
The camp authorities where you will stay will give more accurate guidance.

Have a nice holiday in advance.

  8. I was in DANISMENT with my family on 8.8.2013, that is, during the Ramadan Feast. But I have never seen such a disgraceful administration. human health is nothing, the only purpose is to earn money, they officially cooked with human excrement in the sinks, the water did not flow for days, the garbage was knee-deep, the families were threatened with guns and vagrants to get zero money. Please do not go to this holiday resort.

    • Gökçetepe's sea is more beautiful, but Danışment has more opportunities. By the way, there are sea urchins in both seas, make sure you have sea shoes for your child.

      Have a nice holiday.
