Dubai DXB Airport I think it's the airport with the biggest runways I've ever seen. When you see the runways, one expects the continuation of that splendor in the terminal building. However, the arrival terminal number 2 of cheap airlines, that is, I landed, is tiny.

Our intention was to spend the night at the airport, as Flydubai landed at around 2:55 am UAE (United Arab Emirates) time. However, we walked to the departure terminal as the arrival terminal is small and has uncomfortable seats.

The departure terminal is 3 minutes walking distance, not in the form of upside-down as we are used to. When there is plenty of land in the desert, the airport has grown horizontally 🙂

Departure terminal is relatively better. However, when it comes to sleeping, you have to sleep in a sitting position due to the fact that it is very bright, the human traffic is heavy, and the seats with armrests. In summary, it's hard to sleep if you've passed passport control.

The situation is better if you are a transit passenger. In the section after passport control, there are comfortable seats with foot rest for sleeping. I spent 12 hours here on the way back, it was at home comfort 🙂

Another problem is that the airport is as cold as buzzzz as it is in all of Dubai 🙂 If you are going to spend time at the airport, make sure you have a blanket and sleeping bag with you or you may freeze to death 🙂

Dubai Airport Terminals

Terminal 1: is used by major airlines we know.

Terminal 2: the terminal used by cheap airlines.

Terminal 3: Used by Emirates.

Dubai has made a very clear class distinction. When we look at the Fly Dubai flight routes, the routes are mostly inhabited by those who come to Dubai as workers, not as expats.

There is no metro access from Terminal 2. It is written on the blogs and on the airport's website that there is a free shuttle, but he said that there is no information office and the only transportation is a taxi. Since we were going to the city center by metro, we had to come to terminal 1 or 3. Taxi from Terminal2 to Terminal3 cost 40AED, about 10usd. I think the taxi driver screwed us up… While city taxis charge 5 dirhams, airport taxis charge 20 dirhams, so it's a bad idea to take a taxi from the airport. But not walkable distance between terminals.

There are buses going to the city center from Terminal 2, you have to look at their numbers. Terminals, which we can call the main terminals 1 and 3, gigantic, sleek. But if you intend to sleep, the armrests, the light, the crowd are the same here. Of course we couldn't sleep on the way 🙂

One way to get down to the city is the subway. You can buy the metro ticket from the information desk at the entrance or from the machines. We bought a daily ticket valid in all zones for 22aed. There are also buses departing from different terminals from different parts of the city.

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.

  1. In Dubai, taxis depart from the airport at 20 AED. So you didn't actually get screwed, rest assured.

Taxis in the city also open with more suitable tariffs.

  2. I went to Dubai with Emirates. As you said, the terminal we landed at was quite big and beautiful. You may have been screwed about taxi because taxis are cheap in Dubai.
