Nemrut Trip
Nemrut Trip

The Malatya - Adıyaman - Nemrut plan in my head had to change due to weather and road conditions. Malatya I had planned the exit to Nemrut from the side, but the road on the Malatya side was completely closed due to snow. I received information from the hotels there that it would be difficult to open before mid-April. That's why I decided to go out by Adıyaman. Our way will be quite long, but it is worth going to Nemrut.

When is the best time to go to Nemrut?

The best time to watch the famous sunrise and sunset of Nemrut is June. If you intend to go to Nemrut, I suggest you try to coincide with the June period.

Keep in mind, if you call the Provincial Directorate of Culture before you go, they will help you with the road condition.

Nemrut Trip Plan

At the last point we arrived, I revised the trip plan. Rent a car from Malatya and Adıyaman – Two We will go to Nemrut via the road.

It takes about 4 hours between Malatya and Nemrut when going via Adıyaman.
There are also places to see between Adıyaman and Nemrut. You can see it on the map below.

I thought that we would get up early on Saturday morning, travel to Nemrut via Adıyaman, stay in Kahta for the night, and return to Malatya the next morning. There is not much to do in Malatya, it is the most important part to eat 🙂

At the exit of Nemrut, there is a mountain road that turns for 15-16 km, and the cultural director again underlined that there is snow on the mountain 🙂
After leaving the vehicle, there is a walking distance of 800 meters, it will be a little climbing.

There may still be a surprise waiting for me, the road may be closed, it may snow. See you back 🙂

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.

  1. I'm thinking of going to Nemrut by motorcycle on August 29. I kept the hotel in Kahta-Karadut village. Are those places suitable for climbing by motorcycle? I think it will be very cold in August.
Where to eat, what to do, what to see? I want you to take some time and send me an e-mail.
We will enter from Diyarbakir and return to Malatya. Thank you.

  2. 20 years ago, I did my compulsory service in Gerger. At that time, our greatest pleasure was staying at the stone hotel on the outskirts of Nemrut. I watched the sunrise many times in the morning. It was really a different feeling.
I hope you've seen the Cendere Bridge and the Blackbird. I would be very happy if you share photos of the final version.
