About the Book of Dance with the Pygmies

The book Dance with the Pygmies starts with Meltem's safari in Uganda, and tells about her decision to settle in Uganda, the process of moving and the "settlement" period of about 1 year after she moved.

When we read the book Dancing with the Pygmies, we don't just read about the beauties of that geography and human stories. Meltem's mood swings, her struggle to hold on in a new country, her love life, her friendships, her experiences between returning and staying.

Dancing with the Pygmies is not a travel guide or a travel book. A human story that will fuel your desire to go to Africa incredibly. There is a literary flavor in this book that we cannot find in other travel books. I read my books before going to bed at night and I spent 3 nights without sleep until I finished this book because people don't want to leave the book.

At this time, I have a high motivation not to postpone dreams and to follow them to the end. This book fueled my motivation. Although travel books have such an effect in general, Meltem's story is much more than a situation where I took my bag and left, traveled and came. The story of I took my bag and went and settled… How many people do you know who settled in Africa?

Of course, I will not pass without criticism 🙂 While reading the book, I looked for a few photos, albeit in black and white. Maybe because we are used to visual support in travel books. After all, Yaşar Kemal does not write so that we have pages of description and imagine the place described down to the smallest detail.

The book is just the beginning of Meltem's story, so it feels unfinished. We had just started, I couldn't help but say why the book ended. Since I know Meltem from social media, "Where is the rest of the book?" I asked him too. I think there will be more coming soon.

You can get the Dancing with Pygmies book from online booksellers. As with many travel books, it may not be easy to find this book in bookstores.

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.
