I am writing this article for married people with children and I think I am writing an article for you for the first time. 🙂 I have so many friends or followers who say, “You're single, you can travel, of course, we can't even go for a walk to the beach with the kids”! traveling with child Is it really impossible? I don't have children, of course I can't experience this, but during my travels I have seen so many people traveling with 2-3 children that I say "Sorry, it's your problem" to those who say "we can't travel with children". In this article, with Turkish Travelers and a few inspirational stories that I have observed!

Turkish Travelers Traveling with Children – İpek and Efe Evci

Mom Traveling with Three Children in Morocco

My first example is a woman I met during my trip to Morocco. This French woman was eating alone with her 3 children at the place where we ate. One of the children was 2-3 years old, one was 5-6 years old, and the other was 9-10 years old. We started chatting… His wife could not get permission, our lady came to visit Morocco for 3 days with her 10 children. Even the youngest ate his own food at the table, and none of them whined. I was in shock when I heard the story, “How so you're going to travel to Morocco with 3 kids?” When she asked curiously, the French woman said as if she was doing the most natural thing in the world. Morocco is not like European countries, authentic, chaotic, irregular… But of course, this did not stop the French mother. Its only advantage is that it was influenced by French culture since it was once a French colony, and the rate of speaking French is high.

At that moment, I wanted to take that woman to Turkey and have all mothers give seminars 🙂 When we said goodbye and got up, our mother was reading a book and the children were playing well among themselves…

Nine Kids & Four Families Backpacking on the Peru-Bolivia Border

I was waiting at the bus terminal in Puno, Peru, to cross from Peru to Bolivia. The hour when the bus was supposed to leave has passed, there are four families waiting with me and I can see from their images that they are European, and there are nine children with them, each family has at least two children. Children start at the age of 4-5, the oldest must be 12 years old. I stay away because I'm tired and I don't want to hear children's noise 🙂 When I see that all children, including the youngest child, have their own backpacks from afar, I feel like "how nice they are learning from the little ones"...

Finally, the bus comes, and when I sit in my ticketed seat, I realize that I am in the middle of those nine children. At first, I grumble inside, worried that "I've been on the road for days, what if these kids don't sleep". The road is long and night journey.

As soon as the bus departed, the children took out their notebooks from their bags and began to write down what had happened to them that day. Since the youngest did not know how to write yet, he was painting in his diary. I was fascinated by the children… They all kept diaries and wrote about their travels. As I looked now, the little one handed me her picture diary. They had climbed Machu Picchu as a family. He told me his pictures sweetly… Then the other children had their diaries read. The maturity of the children and their success in expressing themselves continued to amaze me. When the lights of the bus went out, they all slept soundly. Neither a whining nor a saying "I'm hungry, thirsty"...

There are many examples similar to this, but these are the ones that impressed me the most and I shared them because they stayed in my mind.

Turkish Travelers Traveling with Children

Of course, my examples are not always foreigners! There are also Turks living in Turkey or in different parts of the world, traveling with their children, and their numbers are not few! I wanted to introduce you to these people, some of whom I met face-to-face and some through the internet world, and I admire that they all travel with their children, and I wanted to inspire you a little. come on that Turks traveling with childrenLet's get to know:

You probably know them for their jaw-dropping food suggestions, in fact. 3 – The World at My Wheel – Deniz Sword

When I got to know Deniz, he was crossing Africa with his wife by motorbike. They were starting from Turkey and heading towards the southernmost part of Africa. After a while, another person joined the family. The "more" interesting part starts here. If I remember correctly, when the baby was not even 6 months old, a motorcycle and a jeep set off from Bodrum to Dakar with their babies. They were reported in many newspapers at the time, maybe you've seen it too. Those who say "I have a child, I can't even go for a walk to the beach" should think again 🙂

They continue to travel as a family at every opportunity, and they even make alternative tourism for those who want to travel. Ibex Adventure They started a company called Club.

4 – The Little Traveler – İnci and Soner Sarıhan

İnci and Soner, I think, are the most famous family in Turkey when it comes to traveling with children. Maybe I think so because I follow closely, who knows 🙂 They are a couple who love nature without their bicycles in nature and try to raise their children in this way. While the teacher couple Soner and İnci, who live in Iznik, used to explore the world alone by bicycle, they now continue to travel by bicycle as 3 people, together with Tibet Çınar, who joined their family. They toured 24 countries by bicycle. Tibet Çınar is also growing up as an individual who grows up on the roads and gets used to living in harmony with nature.

Aside from traveling as a family, the period he spent months traveling in Asia with a 3-year-old (I hope I don't remember wrong) boy really surprised me. Traveling with the child and producing content regularly must be really hard, I congratulate Deniz again. By the way, you will also love Deniz's photos.

  1. Jasmine Son Alagaş

We, as parents, are deaf, my two children are auditory and we communicate with sign language.
When my son was 16 days old, we went to travel immediately 🙂
It's fun, of course, we had hard days, but my children are discovering the world, they have great days 🙂

  2. Sema Tastan Celebci

Everything becomes easier when you accept that anything that can happen to you while traveling with your child can happen within four walls. We've been on the road since Little Traveler Pebble was born. He also had a fever of 40 degrees, and choked from coughing. But even if we were at home, this would have happened to us. When we get a little comfortable and get away from the worries, we and the child have a great time :)

  3. We are a family that has climbed into nemrut to watch the sunrise with our 10-month-old baby, we do not neglect to travel as long as time allows, I put a lot of homemade things in my bag that will not spoil immediately, the room loves to travel like us. trip ???? ??????????????????

  4. I think most of us are a bit shy about children. On my last trip, I was devastated when the 2-year-old son of the family across from me was running the metal part of the seat belt in all parts of his mouth during the plane trip, but his mother was very calm:)
We have to be a little more comfortable with children. Being on their backs makes them and us tired...

    • We grew up in dust and dirt as children. It is useful for children to get used to a little microbe 🙂

  5. We threw our daughter on the street when she was 7 days old, and she is on the street or on a trip today :) and even now we are doing a 3-month tour of South America. He is 3,5 years old and crossed the argentina-chile border yesterday on a 16-hour night bus ride. If the magnificence of traveling is ingrained, the child becomes not an obstacle but even an adventure. I think that those who travel before the child but avoid traveling after the birth using the child as an excuse have never tasted what 'real' travel is. Otherwise, it is such a wonderful feeling that a child cannot stop people :))
I don't have a blog or anything, but I have an Instagram :) nazanasik

  6. I can say that the basic rule of not being afraid of traveling with a child is to focus on the trip, not the child during the trip. In other words, it is necessary not to drown in details such as "he did not eat or drink", "did he sleep a little or a lot" during the trip. When you do this, the child can finally say, "Let me focus on the trip too". Sometimes …????

  7. As a couple who likes to travel, we were able to dare to go abroad with our son when he was 8 months old. However, we saw that there is no question of illness or hindering us. When our son was 2 years old, we had a holiday abroad for 14 times. In addition to classical European countries, Morocco, Egypt, Georgia, Montenegro, Dubai, America etc. We also made long train journeys in the countries we visited and stayed in hostels. Everything is hidden in arranging the daily sightseeing and travel plan according to the child's meal and sleep schedule. I wish everyone a very enjoyable holiday with their children.

  8. We also travel with 3 small children at every opportunity. In fact, we do not make extra preparations for the children before the trip, even we always prepare our suitcases for the last few hours.

Thanks for your article, children are not a hindrance….

  9. While studying at Istanbul University, we used to go to Sultan Ahmet a lot. I liked it so much that tourists travel with 3-4 children. At that time, I was determined that I should be such a mother. I guess I did ☺️ I'm sure you will be a traveling mother.

    • As the I Travel, Therefore I Am family, we are among those who travel with children. We continue on new adventures with the little Traveler Pebble. Is it easy? Is it hard to argue. Sometimes traveling can be difficult even with your partner. While you are traveling with your child, you have to keep up with him, while you have to keep up with him, and for this balance, it is extra effort to try to enjoy the holiday you have been waiting for all year. Of course, the nightlife is completely over, so I can say that we do not know anything about the nightlife of many cities we go to.
But the pleasure of discovering new places through the eyes of a child is incredible. They are so detailed...
Ah, a little footnote. Traveling is always easier when the child is young, and because they are used to this situation, they can adapt to your travels more easily when they grow up.

  10. It is not impossible to travel with a child; but we cannot catch up with foreigners in this regard. Because the motherhood structure of us Turks is different. We are not as comfortable as them. We have obsessions with food, hygiene, disease, etc. Let's say we've outdone ourselves, there is a mass of mothers who say that you don't feed that little child home-cooked food, that you are crawling on the ground at the airport, which makes you regret going for a trip and even being a mother 😀

I don't want to intimidate those who are going to be mothers by writing like this; But I am not wrong either. But as you mentioned above, many Turkish parents like me can be brave enough to risk some things. Our proliferation will be thanks to today's traveling singles...
    Love…
