Our country is home to many natural and cultural riches. There are many places to see from the west to the south, from the east to the north. Black Sea The region is one of these riches. I try to make time for my travels in Turkey as well as abroad, to see different cities of Turkey. I try to include somewhere in the Black Sea every year in these trips, because I love the natural beauties of the Black Sea. I have a completely different relationship with nature and the magnificent nature of the Black Sea makes me fall in love with it every time. The city that I had the opportunity to see in the Black Sea this year is exploring it happened. We were in Ordu with my 22 traveler friends on 23-15 October as the invitation of the Governor's Office.

10 Reasons to Go to Ordu
10 Reasons to Go to Ordu

I had never had the opportunity to spend time in Ordu, having just gone through it before. This weekend has been a great opportunity for me.

10 Reasons to Go to the Army

Well, why should we go to Ordu, let me share my own observations with you.

  1. Now, transportation is very easy. With the opening of Orgi airport, which was opened last year and is only 15 km from the center, Thy, Pegasus, Atlasjet flights from Istanbul are continuous.
  2. Compared to most of the cities in Anatolia, you can find many different options for accommodation, from chain hotels or from old Ordu houses to boutique hotels.
  3. The prominent flavors of the Black Sea cuisine are pita (the local people also call it oily), cabbage rolls and soup, fried pickles, and fish rice pudding, each more delicious than the other. Laz pastry and muhlama don't exist around here, don't be misunderstood.
  4. Unfortunately, security has become one of our criteria when traveling within Turkey. Ordu is a safe city, you can easily wander around its streets late at night.
  5. We mentioned the natural beauties of the Black Sea, and of course Ordu has had its share of these beauties. It is a visual feast with the mountains, which it leans on its back, meeting the sea, its plateaus, hills and waterfalls. If you are a little bit interested in nature sports, you should make time to get to know this geography.
  6. Have you ever tried paragliding before? Try it or not, it doesn't matter. You can take a flight from Boztepe to the Black Sea.
  7. Ordu is a city famous for its waterfalls. Let me say 10, you say 20, you can go nearby and see many waterfalls flowing from different heights. You may even have the chance to swim under it in the summer.
  8. One of the longest meanders in the world is located on the Persembe plateau. You definitely want to witness this amazing natural phenomenon that continues for 38 km.
  9. Although hazelnut is famous in Giresun and tea in Rize, it is possible to find the best both hazelnut and tea in Ordu at producer prices. Good luck to you 😉
  10. Army people are friendly and hospitable. If you get stuck, knock on someone's door and it will help you. In addition, even if you do not ask, they will come to you to chat with you.

The nature is beautiful, the food is good, the people are nice, transportation is also easy. What are you waiting for, let's go to Ordu, the city of oxygen!

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.

  1. Thank you sevil mert, who explained it very well. Thanks to travelers like you, we get information about regions, villages, towns, thank you very much.

  2. I didn't know about paragliding. I went 10 years ago, I guess it wasn't there at that time. I think you went in a better season and time than spring.

  3. Two fixes. firstly, the name of the airport is not orgi, secondly, atlas does not fly to the army. Oh, and the local people call black cabbage beet 🙂
