For me, the main formula for traveling so often is to keep travel costs low, the cheaper I can make a trip, the more budget I have for my next trip. The biggest expense items in travel are known transportation costs, mostly plane tickets. Cheap flight ticket I wanted to summarize a few simple formulas for you;

1) Buying your plane ticket early.

If you do not have a significant disability, buying your flight tickets 5-6 months in advance will provide you with serious income. If you are one of those who say that they can't plan for that long, we can take you to the expensive flights section 🙂 At worst, you will cancel your ticket or change the dates, make sure it doesn't cost more than buying it at the last minute.

2) Being flexible about flight dates.

Let's unpack this a little, shall we? Prices of plane tickets vary according to demand. For this reason, you can buy plane tickets at a higher price than you would normally buy during public holidays, weekends, special days, and high season. Stretching the dates will allow you to buy plane tickets cheaper. Going on a Thursday evening instead of on a Friday night is like buying a ticket for the 2nd day, not at the beginning of the holiday.

3) Being flexible about the destination.

No, I can hear you say no more 🙂 Don't say. Although South America was in my 2016 plans, I caught a special ticket and suddenly decided to go to Vietnam. No, if you say you will go to South America and you cannot find a suitable ticket, we can take you to the expensive ones section 🙂 This flexible perspective will make your life easier in general, trust me 😉

4) To determine the upper and lower budget limit in your mind.

Set a budget in mind for the place you are going to and decide how much you will allocate for transportation for this budget. Limits you set for yourself will make it easier for you to decide. For example, I had said that I could allocate a maximum of 1500 TL for a flight ticket to Mongolia, and when I caught that price, I bought my flight ticket without thinking. If I didn't have an idea, I wouldn't be able to take action from wondering if it's cheap or expensive.

5) Not to be afraid to transfer.

Flying directly is of course practical and saves time, but transferring can sometimes give you the chance to see new countries, and also allows you to buy your plane ticket cheaply. Last year, I had the chance to see Sri Lanka during a 12-hour transfer to Dubai, and this year I will have the chance to see 2 different cities of Kazakhstan on my way to Mongolia.

6) Being fast.

If you have found a cheap flight ticket, do not miss it, get it now. Because airline companies reserve limited quota for cheap tickets, the cheap ticket you see at that moment can be doubled in 2 hours. If you find it, don't miss it, don't wait for anyone, get it now.

7) To follow the campaigns.

This topic is actually a very broad topic. When you say campaign, it includes a lot, but of course, the priority is the campaigns of the airline companies. For example, if an airline opens a new line, a campaign will be made there and you can find cheap tickets. For example, Pegasus has started flying to Qabala now, they should have a look at the plane tickets right away. Apart from new flights, airline companies are doing many campaigns such as spring campaign, winter campaign, that campaign, this campaign, you should follow closely and not miss the cheap ticket opportunities.

8) To follow the campaigns by being a member of the award/point systems of airline companies, credit cards and/or companies selling airline tickets.

While some airlines give points for each ticket purchaser and points for each check-in transaction, you can earn points for every purchase you make on the boarding cards of some credit cards. There are those who follow these works very closely and bring all their flights for free, but I don't have that much time, I spend what I earn by chance. While I get 2-3 free tickets a year at Pegasus, I earn enough points to buy a long flight every 2 years at THY.

9) Subscribe to e-newsletters.

Sign up for the e-bulletin lists of all the airlines you know and the companies selling airline tickets to be able to fulfill clauses seven and eight. Thus, you can easily be informed about the reward systems of the campaigns. That's all I do.

10) Using price comparison sites.

There are a lot of airline companies, hundreds of routes to go, 365 days a year, I can hear you say how do I organize all this. To get rid of this chaos, you can benefit from companies that compare and sell air ticket prices.

"Does he who reads a lot or travels a lot?" I started by saying, I am still looking for an answer. I travel after my dreams and share my experiences on my blog, newspapers and magazines. I love to travel, read, write and dream.

  1. While I was thinking whether he reads a lot or travels a lot 🙂 this article played a role in my decision whether he travels a lot 🙂 thank you

  2. Thanks for the compilation, it's good. I have 2 favourites. First, I am a member of the campaign list of airline companies. There are good short-term campaigns. Secondly, I use travel credit cards and some flights are free with the accumulated points.
