Sri Lanka Travel Route – Day by Day Details

Day One – Istanbul to Dubai

Friday, 18.09.2015 – We fly from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Dubai in the evening. We will be in Dubai in the morning. Our flight goes to Colombo via Dubai.

Second Day – Dubai Trip

19.09.2015 Saturday – We are spending today in Dubai, we will take the opportunity to wait for 15 hours and make a day trip to Dubai. In the evening we fly from Dubai to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

Third Day – Anuradhapura

Sunday, 20.09.2015 – In order to move quickly during our trip Car rental with driver in Sri Lanka we did. The one who picked us up from the airport first and is close to Colombo Airport Neo Holiday Home He will take you to our hotel, and pick him up in the morning.

Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, is our first stop. We will also visit the temples that await us on the way. We will stay overnight in Dambulla.

Day Four – Dambulla and Sigirya

Monday 21.09.2015 – We will visit the temple caves in Dambulla and climb the rock of Sigirya. We stay overnight in Polonnaruwa.

Fifth Day – Polonnaruwa and Kandy

Tuesday, 22.09.2015 – After visiting the Polonnaruwa temples, we are going to Kandy, which is among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Again, we watch the ritual that has become a tourist attraction in our temples, Botanical Garden and Kandy. We stay overnight in Kandy.

Day Six – Pinnawalla Elephant Orphanage and Nuwara Eliya

Wednesday, 23.09.2015 – We go to the Pinnawalla Elephant Orphanage and love elephants 🙂 We turn our way to Nuwara Eliya. There are several waterfalls, tea factories and tea plantations that we will see on the way. We spend the night in Nuwara Eliya.

We do not do the famous Kandy-Ella train route because our hours do not fit, but we console ourselves that we will stop and take photos on the roads.

Seventh Day – Galle

Thursday, 24.09.2015 – We are now turning towards the Indian Ocean again. Our destination is Galle. At sunset, we will take pictures of the fishermen and tour the Galle fort. We are in Galle at night.

Eighth Day – Galle

Friday, 25.09.2015 – Today is our holiday day 🙂 We intend to do an activity like diving or snorkeling around Galle. We sleep on the worst beach 🙂 We also have the right to rest in between 🙂

Ninth Day – Colombo

Saturday, 26.09.2015 – Journey from Galle to Colombo, stopping at the places we catch our eye on the way. We will tour Colombo in the afternoon and end our trip with the Dubai flight that we will board at night.

Day Ten – Return

Sunday, 27.09.2015 – We fly from Dubai to Istanbul and return home 🙁

If I had a few more days on this trip, I would definitely go to Adam's Peak, Yala or Udawale National Parks. Sri Lanka is also a country with a leopard population, but it is a must to go to Yala to see them.

    We are in Sri Lanka on the same dates and our routes are very similar. You have solved the transportation, but we are planning something with a little more train and bus. We are currently flying from Maldives to Colombo. Maybe we will meet there 🙂 love..

      • In fact, a tour agency came to mind as we were leaving Colombo airport. We rented a car with a driver and traveled comfortably in 5 days. Indeed, it would be very difficult without a car 🙂
        We also took the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, the driver greeted us in Ella, it was an amazing experience.
        We did not meet, but as far as I can see from the photos, we passed the same places. Love 🙂
