How to Get to Fes? Transportation to Fes

Our plane landed in Casablanca in the morning for our trip to Morocco. We immediately took delivery of our prearranged rental car and set off for our first stop, Fes. For car rental options in Morocco Rentalcars.com you can browse the website.

Our way from Kazanblanca to Fes was about 300 km. The wide and smooth highway, the decent cities along the way, had suddenly changed our dream of authentic country travel.

We went directly from Casablanca Airport with the car we rented to Fes, but you can also come this way by train. The train takes about 4,5 hours.

Fes Travel Guide

We arrived in Fes around 10:00 in the morning. Fes, one of the most authentic cities in Morocco. The world's largest traffic-free city settlement is also here. It is closed to vehicle traffic, but donkey and motorcycle traffic is at least as intense as human traffic.

The name Morocco, which we use for the country in our language, also comes from the city of Fes and the name of the country is used as Morocco in Turkish only.

The old town of Fes is a labyrinth. My advice is to explore this labyrinth yourself, but if you say I'm lazy, you can find guides that will travel with you all day at the main gates of the city at very cheap prices.

As soon as the guides realize that you are a tourist at the main entrances, they follow you and when they say you don't want a guide, they say some negative superstitions about the old city, don't believe it! They line up intimidating words one after the other, as if you'd get lost, snatched.

Dive into the maze. They have determined travel routes in the labyrinth with 6 different colors, these lines intersect in certain places. If you still can't find your way, if you ask for help from the shopkeepers, they will be happy to take you to the point you want.

If you don't have a sensitive nose like me and you haven't been in a hot climate, the smell isn't too bad to bear 🙂 Mint is already there everywhere, it would be good to carry it by hand.

Photography enthusiasts should also consider your suggestion 🙂
