Macaron Mansion was one of the oldest and largest mansions of this neighborhood. The couple Serap and Yavuz Tuncay decided to settle in Ayvalık, they restored this old mansion and provided a very pleasant accommodation opportunity for those who want to visit Ayvalık. The mansion is a tastefully furnished home with 9 rooms, a huge garden, restored in accordance with its originality. So you feel like you are at home there.

Transportation to Macaron Mansion
We had landed at Edremit Airport to reach Ayvalık. We took the free shuttle from Edremit Koca Seyit Airport to Ayvalık in 40 minutes.
We got off the bus in Ayvalık in front of today's Migros, which everyone knows as Tansaş. Macaron Mansion is just a few minutes' walk from Migros. There is already a sign on every street corner, so we found this beautiful boutique hotel as if we had put it with our hands.

Breakfast at Macaron Mansion
I would like to specifically mention Macaron's breakfast. As you know, I am fond of throat, breakfast is my favorite meal… As such, I woke up on Saturday morning as hungry as a wolf. Cookie (the mansion's sweet dog) greeted me when I landed in Macaron's garden, but my eyes are on breakfast, of course.
If you are in Ayvalık, you expect to find various kinds of cheese and olives. This expectation is exceedingly met. Besides, homemade jams, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, parsley, which we cannot find even if we look for them in Istanbul, are on the menu. In addition to these, I lost myself when I said pastries, pancakes, tarts, cakes that just came out of the oven. Filter coffee, which you will find it difficult to find a good one even in many hotels, was another point of my breakfast that got me going… I'm not sure if it was the apple tart next to it.

Why is the garden so important, I can hear you say. I am a street person, I like to spend time outside where I stay. If it provides that, I love it more.

The garden has been tastefully decorated like the interior of the mansion, and even the smallest details have been carefully designed. I forgot to take a photo of it, but even the hose hanger was specially chosen, it didn't go unnoticed. Colorful flowers are winking at you everywhere. And you can have your beautiful breakfast in this garden under the shade of olive trees, what else should you want…
